This seminar focuses on documenting shared-flat living, and explores various forms of collective living, from intentional communities to urban co-housing setups. The goal is to lead an investigation of the lifestyle and social dynamics of different communities through photography and drawing. We will develop investigations on collective housing in the Aachen area through a series of assignments that will comprehend historical precedents as well as comparative analyses of contemporary flat-sharing communities. The seminar includes lectures, photographic and drawing elaborations and aims to stimulate attention on issues of sharing, coexistence and resilience in urban communities.
