In autumn 2017, the Neues Museum Nürnberg will present a major Japan exhibition with the same title. The exhibition invites visitors on forays into the world of Japanese aesthetics. The starting point of the museum’s journey of discovery is the traditional Japanese teahouse, a place of spiritual practice. The long history of Far Eastern teahouses, rich in examples, offers a wealth of characteristic features and constructive ideas. The subject of the impromptu is the design of a contemporary tea house.
