Architectural works are considered complete as soon as final acceptance has taken place. But what happens before that? In this seminar, we examine the production processes. The focus of our investigation is the craftspeople and their contributions to planning and building, which are often overlooked.  After an introductory session in which we will speak with craftspeople, we will analyze production methods throughout the remainder of the seminar. To this end, we will expand the scope of our analysis in terms of time and geography. We will examine methods, customs, and techniques from different eras and cultures. We will focus not only on construction processes but also on the social forms through which craft knowledge and skills are acquired and passed on.
