In the current context, we are becoming aware of our ecological footprint. We acknowledge the limitation of natural resources and understand the necessity to reduce CO2 emissions. We are looking for efficient solutions for recycling, recovery, and adaptive reuse.
The Lehmbaugarten is located in Aachen-Seffent, behind the shock wave laboratory of RWTH Aachen University. The garden has been a place for experiments for more than forty years.
The aim of this impromptu project is to improve the conditions of use of the Bundeskunsthalle's roof terrace. The building was planned in the early 1990s by architect Gustav Peichl.
Next to the RWTH's shock wave laboratory, there has been a park for 40 years in which clay domes and half-timbered pavilions are built by students by hand and foot without machines. These pavilions are improvisations that arise from the joint work of 4 students.
This elective course will be dedicated to Japanese gardens, landscapes and architecture.
